- When I engage the spiral it seems to slip
and not hold the index position
- The graduated index scale is moving
- The rubber boot seems to be too tight
This may occur over a period of time and when large heavy cutters are ground.
It also happens when unintentionally too much radial force - overpowering the
spiral - is applied. Resolution; adjust the control roller as per the
instructions.

Unscrew the index cover assembly from the front
spindle. Use adjustment screws from the inside to tighten scale ring
Loosen the nut on the smaller diameter of the boot to
adjust for tightness
