How do I save Pmac variables ?

In order to secure the Pmac variable data, the following programs need to be executed:
Change to the c:\rotec\install directory or folder and execute 3 programs one after the other:   save900i         savebasi         savemoti
this will create three files named:    i_900-23.pmc,      i_bas.pmc,     I_mot.pmc.

My measuring probe is hitting the flute when I measure high helix cutting tools

In the CNC (Rotec) screen enter F3 to open the probe calibration menu. Change the field "% Helix lead by turning C axis" located at the lower right hand corner of the screen, to a different value. Default setting is 100%. For less rotation use below 100 and for more rotation use above 100. Do not exceed 120% or 80% respectively.

What if I want to change the tool/drill program to the METRIC or INCH system?

To change to either metric or inch go to;  Administration > Syntax > NC-Code enter. Change the "Input Value" field to your desired value by hitting the space bar. "Esc" and save. Proceed normally.

Note: Only wheel data and machine data is changed to its new value. All tool data files remain with their respective values. You have to recreate those tools files that you want changed.

Note: Change to the new value in the CNC - ROTEC before you transmit data from Unger to Rotec!. Rotec menu "File Edit" -> "Units"

I got problems when grinding tapered ball nose tools

Make sure you select "Type 2" in the "Infeed Type" field on the Main Fluting screen.  This is true for all corner and full radius tools.

I am getting a following error on either one axis

An error code 23 similar to "23 Following error C", appears. With the error code still showing, check the drives in the electrical cabinet for another error code. This code can be looked up in the Baldor manual section 5 Troubleshooting to interpret the error.

CNC not found error

CNC not found is a result of a communication error between the PC and the CNC card (PMAC). The problem could be either a PMAC failure or a ISA board failure. To troubleshoot, take out the PC and check the PMAC card for a RED LED. Green LED is ok and means power is on the card. Red LED means communications error and the card needs to be sent in for repair and/or replacement. Make sure to note the Firmware Version of the card. Do not load any other version without prior contacting the company.

Program Error on file "xxxxxx.xxx" Not enough Memory

This error appears on any file loaded that will encounter a low memory situation. To remedy this error run "memmaker" in Windows 3.11 This will reallocate the system and upper memory and free up lower memory for the program to start.
